Call for papers
cambridge-hotelInquire brings together decision-makers and quantitative researchers from the investment management profession and leading academic finance researchers in an environment conducive to an exchange of ideas. The next seminar will be held 26 - 28 September 2010 in Grantham, UK.

Papers relevant to the theme of Regime Change and Investment Management will be especially welcomed. However, papers may also be submitted in any area of finance relevant to investment management including, but not necessarily confined to:

  • Asset allocation and stock selection models
  • Trading rules and program trading methods
  • Asset pricing and factor models
  • Derivatives
  • Applied financial econometrics
  • Investment performance measurement and attribution
  • Manager selection and compensation
  • Private equity
  • Alternative investments

Papers are selected by Inquire UK's programme committee based on the quality of exposition, analytical rigour, originality and understanding of real world problems. The same criteria, together with the quality of the presentation actually given, are applied by Inquire’s prize committee in selecting papers for Inquire awards. There will be a prize for the best paper presented in 2009 (at either the March or September seminar) of up to £3,000. Further prizes and certificates of outstanding quality may be awarded at the discretion of the prize committee.

Submission procedure
The deadline for submission of papers to be presented at the Autumn 2010 seminar in Grantham is 7 June 2010.
Submissions should be made by uploading author details, and the paper and/or extended abstract, via the new submission management system at http://www.inquire.org.uk/paperupload/. Papers and abstracts should be in either MS-Word or (preferably) PDF formats. Authors who have not previously registered on the system should first create an account at http://www.inquire.org.uk/paperupload/register.php.

Please note that only papers submitted in this way will be considered by the Programme Committee.
